You have been dreaming of a unique bridal gown… you have searched online, visited bridal stores but still can’t find your special dress? You decided to start the exciting process of having a custom wedding gown made for you!
In order to fully understand the process, policies, and what you can expect from us, please read the following information:

1. Get Started!

To make sure that we are available and have enough time to offer you a perfect service, please call or email to book an appointment .
We recommend you to contact us at least 4 months before the wedding. Please call for an appointment 3 to 4 weeks in advance of the actual needed appointment date.
We also offer 4 weeks rush service for extra 25% of the total cost of the gown.
Phone: 510 648 2450
Email: appointments@viogemini.com
Open hours: Monday through Friday from 10 am to 5 pm. Saturday morning by appointment only.

2. First meeting:

Come in for your scheduled consultation. If you know what kind of dress you would like such as the silhouette, train length, sleeves or other details please bring us you inspirational pictures. During this consultation we will go over different design ideas, fabric ideas, and price points.
If you like any particular fabric, design detail or shape and you have pictures of it – please bring them to your first appointment or add them to an especially dedicated Pinterest board.
We do not replicate other designers’ creations, but we can get inspired by a certain detail or shape to create a unique and original gown for you.
We will sketch a wedding gown and choose fabrics and laces and other embellishments.
The price will be determined and a 25% deposit will be required to be paid at this moment. You will pay the rest on your second fitting appointment.
Once the design has been determined and the deposit paid we will take your measurements and schedule our next appointment for the first fitting session. Next time you are going to try on a mock-up of your dress made in muslin cotton fabric to correct the fit and design details.

Please bring to your first appointment:
  • Pictures and ideas of what you have in mind.
  • If you are going to wear any shaping undergarments or corset and you have it, please bring it with you.
  • You can have a friend or two with you at the first consultation.

3. First fitting:

You are going to try on your wedding dress mockup made in muslin fabric or the shell of the dress. We will correct the fit of the dress, finalize neckline and yoke shapes and check the length.
You will see how your dress looks like on you and if you would like to change anything in the design of the dress – this is when you can still do that, although extra fee may be added in some cases. This fitting session is quite technical, so you do not need really to bring your friends this time.

Some things to remember as you come in for your fittings:
  • Please bring your undergarments and bridal shoes that you are going to wear at your wedding.
  • Remember what you originally said you had wanted. Changes can be made, but only within reason.
  • Communication with the designer is VITAL as she can only make what has been said, not what you thought you said.

4. Second fitting

Exciting moment - are finally going to see your dress made with the final fabric! During this fitting session we will make sure that the dress fit you like a glove! If anything needs to be altered we will do that – it is a part of creating a custom made gown.
We will also finalize details such as length, beading, sash and other embellishments.
While you have your dress on you can try different bridal accessories and place your order to have them done by your next fitting. Next time you are going to have your dress ready, but if it still needs correction – we will schedule one more fitting appointment.

What to bring:
  • Please bring your undergarments and bridal shoes that you are going to wear at your wedding.
  • Please remember also that your final payments must be made by this time as well so don't forget your cash/check or credit card.

5. Getting your dress!

At this appointment you may need to get into your dress again – just to see how lovely it fits you! We will provide a special garment bag and a hanger for your dress; just make sure you have enough room in your car!
You can bring as many friends for this last appointment and share your excitement with them!
We offer bridal gown and veil pressing for extra fee. In this case please schedule an appointment to pick up your gown at a later date within one week.
